CME Business Tour

After a year full of COVID-19, restrictions and uncertainty, CME students had the opportunity to participate in the Business Tour, which is organized annualy by the BT Committee of the CME Dispuut. This year, the BT was a full two-day tour which included visits in several companies within the Netherlands as well as multiple events along these visits.
During the first day, CME students visited the Afsluitdijk, one of the biggest dams in the Netherlands, currently being reinforced by Levvel construction consortium – formed by BAM, Van Oord and Rebel.Later the same day, they attended a presentation at the AFAS-Stadium by The Stadium Consultancy, which is a consulting company, exclusively specialized in sports infrastructure and venue industries.
The next day, BT participants had the opportunity to visit Heerema Marine Contractors, a company with a strong mission regarding sustainability in offshore energy projects. The tour ended with a visit to Royal HaskoningDHV, one of the largest engineering consultancies in the Netherlands, and had the chance to solve a real-life complex problem in small groups, and make presentations to the company’s consultants.
However, the tour didn’t lack the fun part, as it also included networking drinks with the companies, coffee breaks, as well as dinner and drinks in the city center of Alkmaar, making it a remarkable experience for CME students!
